Hello Yellow…

Wednesday, April 30th, 2014

While it’s not my favorite color, the color yellow has been on my radar lately.  I’ve started to notice some fun yellow options out there in fashion and home.  I guess you can say that I kind of have a thing for yellow right now!  I do feel like I need a little spray tan to wear it best, but even the palest of people can wear the pastel version of this color and get away with it.  Yellow is a good color to use when wanting to make a statement, either in your wardrobe or your home.

A pop of yellow may just brighten your day!  Take a look below for some more ways to use this vibrant color.

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Monday, April 28th, 2014

Mother’s Day is creeping up on us and we don’t want to forget about the mom’s in our lives. I’ve put together a little gift guide, and I hope that there’s a little something for everyone!

The Black And Gold List

Friday, April 25th, 2014

One of my best friends is getting married in May and this weekend is her bachelorette party and shower.  I was blown away when I saw the invitation, (the picture below does not do it justice) and thought I would plan today’s post around this marvelous invite.  The invite suggests all the guests wear black and gold (the greatest color combo, by the way) and masquerade masks are also encouraged.  It got me thinking….A.) What am I going to wear? B.) How amazing are these two colors together? C.) What a genius idea for a fun night out with girlfriends!  So, I’ve decided to put together “the black and gold list” to showcase how you can get your hands on this color combo!

With all the black I have in my closet, paired with any of my numerous pieces of gold jewelry, I should be able to find something to wear to fit with this theme; however, this post makes me want to go shopping for some new black and gold!  Have a great weekend, and if you decide to drink some champagne and dance on the table….well, that’s fine too! Cheers!

P.S. Briana does all kinds of invitations and party decor, and has done several for my group of friends.  Each and every one of them have been amazing!  I will be doing a separate post highlighting more of her work, but if you have a need for some one-of-a-kind invitations, shoot her an email to learn more (

Summer Is Coming–How’s Your Outdoor Space Looking?

Thursday, April 24th, 2014

Spring has sprung and before we know it, the summer will be in full effect (100 degree temps and all). In my dream world, I would have one of these outdoor living spaces to entertain in the summertime.  We always reminisce about what we want our backyard to look like, but since the inside of our house is still a work in progress, the outdoor spaces have taken a backseat.  I hope someday to bring in a few of these lovely ideas and create our own dream outdoor space.

I really want a pergola outside of our family room to create an indoor/outdoor vibe.  It could also provide some shade during the sunny parts of the day.  I would love to have a long table with plenty of seating on the patio (under the pergola) for entertaining and spending time outside with our family. Until that time comes, I will continue to collect images via Pinterest like all of the above, and hold on to all these ideas. While you’re also waiting for your dream outdoor space, check out these goodies to get your current space ready for the summer fun!

Wednesday Wants: Brushstokes

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014

While many of you have caught on to this trend, I don’t think it’s going anywhere just yet.  I love the brushstroke look that is out there in so many forms right now.  I’m dying to use the brushstroke wallpaper by Amanda Nisbet, the stationary from Kelly Wearstler, and get my hands on one of Made By Girl’s brushstroke prints!  Who wants a piece for themselves?

You can get your own brushstroke look with any of the accessories above!   There are a lot of options out there in all different colors, but these are a few ways to bring in this motif of the moment!
