Project Update: The Sarah Richardson Collection for Kravet

Thursday, July 31st, 2014

Hello!  So, I’m long overdue on giving you an update on my current projects.  Well, I can say that things are moving along nicely at the Cape Cod/Traditional style home.  The kitchen banquette is installed, and fabric choices have been made (Yay!).  Romans shades, a custom bench cushion, and pillows are being made as I speak (or write;).  This space will be among my favorite ones in the house.  I can’t wait to see it come together and fully styled.  Here’s a look at a similar set up + our fabric choices from Sarah Richardson’s collection for Kravet:

Next up is our final selection on the table, chairs, and lighting.  Stay tuned for the pictures of the finished product.  And for sneak peeks along the way, follow me on Instagram @dallasinteriorstylists   You can also check out ALL of Sarah’s line with Kravet here.

Today I’m finishing the styling for my collaboration with Kufri Life Fabrics in their new showroom to prepare for tonight’s open house!  Until then, get a taste of Kufri Life Fabrics and their other home goods here.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale — My Picks

Monday, July 28th, 2014

Happy Monday!  I’m back after taking last week off from blogging due to a new project that I’m really excited about. Stay tuned to future blog posts for more details.

If you’ve read the blog for a while, you know that I’m a huge fan of Nordstrom, and every year around this time starts their anniversary sale.  Now is a good time to stock up on Fall essentials.  So treat yourself (and save a little mulah) while getting a head start on your back-to-school shopping, or for that special occasion coming up.  Here are my picks from this year’s anniversary sale:

Nordstrom Sale.001 Nordstrom Sale.002

No. 1 – This Bauble Bar statement necklace is just that..a statement!  I love the emerald green touches!

No. 2 –  Sometimes I feel like a little edge is necessary and why not add some edge “literally” with this spiked hinge cuff.

No. 3 – Alexis Bittar’s designs never disappoint and these earrings can be both dressed up or down.

No. 4 – This black top is classic and could be worn solo in the summer months and under a blazer for Fall.

No. 5 – Red, red and more red.  Everywhere I look.  Join the crowd and be festive in this red collared dress.

No. 6 – While you’re sitting comfy why not also sit pretty in these PJ pants.

No. 7 – Burberry. Burgundy. Handbag. Done.

No. 8 – This tote is from the juniors section but looks high-end and is only a whopping $35.90 on sale.

No. 9 – I love this cross body black leather clutch and would wear the heck out of it.

No. 10 – While I’m not ready to buy winter boots just yet, I’ve been on the hunt for some over the knee black boots that don’t have a tall heel.

No. 11 – I’m seeing a trend towards black tennis shoes and while I’m short (and these won’t help elongate the look of my legs) I do think they could blend nicely with all the black workout pants and leggings I wear year round.

No. 12 – Burgundy heels that have some ankle action..

No. 13 – This saw tooth throw comes in both black and red, but why not add a pop of color to the end of your bed or the side of your sofa.

No. 14 – A stylish candle to light up on those special occasions..

No. 15 – A small candle bowl for a stylish touch to any room.

Decorator Alessandra Branca’s Bahamas Getaway

Wednesday, July 16th, 2014

Judging by yesterday’s Tuesday’s Treasure post, you know I’m loving a little red right now.  In the past, I’ve gotten tired of large doses of red in interiors, but I do love red when just the right dose is used.  In Alessandra Branca’s vacation home the vibrant color is utilized in great ways (and in the right places) to make this home worth an extended stay, and definitely worth a look via Architectural Digest here. Let’s take a tour…

I love the trellis railings that she painted red both on the inside and outside of the home.  And I love the all fabrics that she chose for pillows and window treatments.  See even more of this home on Architectural Digest here. Now I just need to figure out where I can bring in a little red to my own home!
